The Thami Mnyele Foundation has put out an open call for an African Artist in Residence at their premises in Amsterdam.

From the Press Release: “Application deadline: June 24, 2011 at 4 pm (for residencies in 2012).Established in 1992, the Thami Mnyele Foundation runs a unique three month artists-in-residence program in Amsterdam.The main objective of the Foundation is to advance cultural exchange between artists from Africa, the Netherlands and Amsterdam in particular.The Thami Mnyele Foundation is offering an urban, loft-style apartment plus studio to African visual artists for residencies of 3 months in duration. Applicants can use this space and time for research, reflection, networking and/or production. We will provide , return ticket, free accommodation and a 850 euro a month honorarium. The Thami Mnyele Foundation apartment is fully furnished and includes a kitchen, a bathroom with shower, a double bed, a double futon/couch. All linens and cooking utensils are provided. The apartment is located on the second floor of an old school building in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Artists from Africa or Diaspora at all stages of their careers are encouraged to apply. Equal consideration will be given to emerging and established artists.
