From 17 to 20 October, Sharjah Art Foundation speakers are part of the Asia Now Paris Asian Art Fair programme of talks alongside screenings of three Sharjah Art Foundation Collection films as part of Prameya Art Foundation’s curated film programme, Poetics of the Ground.

Speakers: Nawar Al Qassimi, Vice President, Sharjah Art Foundation, Alia Swastika, co-curator of Sharjah Biennial 16 and Rossella Biscotti, Sharjah Biennial 16 artist.

Rethinking Asian Contemporary Practices from Museum and Alternative context

Speakers: Alia Swastika, co-curator of Sharjah Biennial 16; Venus Lau, Director of the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Nusantara; and Nge lay, Sharjah Biennial 16 artist.
Moderator: Fi Churchman, Editor, ArtReview.

Moving image works from the Sharjah Art Foundation Collection presented in the screening programme include ‘From Gulf to Gulf to Gulf’ (2009-2013) by CAMP as well as ‘Brick Sellers of Kabul’ (2006) and ‘Clapping with Stones’ (2005), both by Lida Abdul.
