Lauren Beukes Shortlisted for Arthur C. Clarke Award

Lauren Beukes’s Zoo City has been shortlisted for the prestigious Arthur C. Clarke Award for Science Fiction Literature and The British Science Fiction Association Award (BSFA) for “Best Novel”.

From Jacana’s press release: “Lauren is jetting off to London for the ceremonies. The winners for the BSFA Award will be announced on the 23rd of April at the Illustrious Eastercon Convention in Birmingham and The Aurthur C. Clarke Award will be announced at the Sci-Fi London Film Festival on the 27th of April. She is also in the running for The 2010 UJ Prize for the best creative work in English, the winner will be announced in May. Zoo City has also been short-listed for the Locus Award and long-listed for the BFS (British Fantasy Society) award.
