Ama Culture focuses on showcasing South Africa’s rich, multi-layered culture through unique stories. The Cape alone has been enriched by influences from four different continents, not only Africa and Europe but also Asia, especially East Indies, and North America. This heritage still today inspires artists, architects, chefs, photographers, wine makers and designers to create exciting products. Ama Culture is especially interested in sharing discoveries about these unique people, often unsung heroes and places, that are building this culture
Ama Culture aims to inspire South Africans and visitors to (re)discover South Africa’s culture through experiences by visiting, tasting and engaging with the various people and places. On top of this column, Ama Culture is busy developing a unique platform including a map to highlights and give directions to the various cultural points of interests.
Ama Culture is the result of a joint venture between three passionate parties.
Christine Lundy, the creative mind behind this concept, a French marketer and lifestyle writer, who after living in South Africa for 14 years has experienced the wealth of South African’s culture and witnessed the rise of its sophistication.
Whitespace Creative, Ama Culture’s design arm, is a marketing agency, founded and led by Sean and Tania Harrison – an energetic couple driven by design – winners of multiple design awards, and the brains behind the unique food concept: Food from the Karoo.
The third party is Art South Africa, Ama Culture’s media partner, founded and published by Suzette and Brendon Bell Roberts, both highly experienced and influential in the South African art and cultural sectors.
Ama Culture will feature articles about Wine, Food, Heritage, Architecture, Art and Design through interviews, research and beautiful visuals showcasing South Africa’s fascinating culture.
