The winner of the third edition of the FNB Art Prize is the video installation Uncles & Angels, a collaboration between South African artist Mocke J Van Veuren and South African performer and choreographer Nelisiwe Xaba.
The judges of this year’s FNB Art Prize are Elvira Dyangani Ose, Curator for International Art at the Tate Modern, Prof. Federico Freschi, Executive Dean of the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture at the University of Johannesburg, and Ross Douglas, Cobi Labuscagne and Silvia Pillon from Artlogic. The winner will receive a R100 000 cash prize as well as a booth in which to showcase their work at this year’s Fair. All galleries that take part in the Fair were given the opportunity to submit one of their artists for consideration.
