Open Call:
E·CO/26 is an international open call for collaborative artistic and research projects developed by interdisciplinary groups. The programme supports new works that engage critically with history to better understand the present and to propose future perspectives.
Institutional Context:
The initiative is led by the VIST Foundation in collaboration with international partners, including NEWF, AECID and Spanish Cultural Centres. Selected projects are developed within the E·CO/26 platform and presented through exhibitions and digital channels, with potential for international circulation.
The programme combines production support with a structured process of reflection, dialogue and mentorship led by specialists throughout the development phase.
Eligibility and Criteria:
The call is open to collaborative groups meeting the following criteria:
- Groups must consist of at least three participants working on a shared project.
- Applicants must be residents of countries in Ibero-America or Africa.
- Both existing collectives and newly formed groups are eligible.
- Projects may be visual, audiovisual or transmedia and must align with the thematic focus of the call.
Applications must be submitted collectively and include details of all participants, including a designated legal representative responsible for communication and grant management.
Evaluation Process:
Projects are assessed through a multi-stage process that includes:
- Initial project selection
- Participation in an Ideas Laboratory and discussion sessions to refine proposals
- Ongoing mentorship and monitoring during production
The evaluation considers the quality of the proposal, its thematic relevance, and the strength of the collaborative approach.
