#AminaZoubir’s 'Escape from my body' shows a scarecrow in scared posture, as a cross and prostration (said soudjoud during the muslim prayer), and presented in construction sites— no women’s land— that widen urban spaces in Algiers, Algeria and enlarge the suburbs. The posture of this feminine body reveals a sliding on this other body: the ground which carries us, and the full imagery of the body supposes the reappropriation of a surly urban. Would the scarecrow be embellished with images to take away the other bodies of these spaces in future? #lagosbiennial #lagosbiennial2017 #contemporaryart #femalebody #algerianart
