Artists, architects, dancers and musicians are invited to apply for Art Omi’s 2027 international residency programmes in New York’s Hudson Valley, offering dedicated time, space and opportunities for creative exchange.

Open Call:
Art Omi has opened applications for the 2027 editions of its Architecture, Artists, Dance and Music residency programmes. Bringing together creative practitioners from around the world, the residencies provide an environment for experimentation, collaboration and the development of individual and collective practices.
Institutional Context:
Located in Ghent, New York, Art Omi is an international arts organisation offering residency programmes across architecture, visual art, dance, music and writing. Its residency campus is in New York’s Hudson Valley and provides accommodation, dedicated workspaces, and prepared meals in a setting that brings together nature, art, and architecture. Residents are selected through a competitive jury process and attend the programmes at no cost, except for travel expenses.
Eligibility and Criteria:
Eligibility varies according to each programme:
Art Omi: Art Omi welcomes artists from around the world who have been professionally active for at least five years. Eligible disciplines include visual arts, sound art, performance and social practice. Formal art education is not required, and self-taught professional artists may apply.
Art Omi: Architecture is open to early- and mid-career architects worldwide who have been professionally active for at least five years after professional licensing or completion of an M.Arch degree. Applicants must be active in professional practice or academia with a focus on architectural design. Current B.Arch, M.Arch and PhD students are not eligible.
Art Omi: Dance welcomes professional dancers and choreographers working across styles and traditions. Applicants should be interested in exchanging ideas and processes with an international group and should arrive without a predetermined project, remaining open to collaboratively conceived work.
Art Omi: Music is open to individual composers, musicians and sound-makers working across genres and backgrounds internationally. The programme places particular emphasis on collaboration, exchange and experimentation.
Evaluation Process:
Residents are chosen through a competitive jury process. Selection requirements vary by programme and reflect each residency’s particular focus.
For Architecture, selection is based on the applicant’s proposed independent project and portfolio. Projects may be conceptual or practical, existing or newly initiated, but cannot be client-based or directed. Applicants must submit a visual presentation and final work product.

Practical Information:
The application fee is USD 15 for the 2027 open call. Selected residents attend the residency at no cost apart from travel expenses, with accommodation, meals and dedicated working spaces provided by Art Omi.
The 2027 residency dates are:
- Architecture: 27 May to 14 June 2027
- Artists: 17 June to 12 July 2027
- Dance: 22 July to 9 August 2027
- Music: 12 August to 30 August 2027
The deadline for Art Omi: Artists is 14 September 2026. The deadline for Architecture, Dance and Music is 1 October 2026.
