Severa Rech Cassarino, an established fine artist and art teacher, will hold a workshop for budding and experienced artists at Origins Centre in July.

The workshop is a well-structured journey of discovery through the use of oil pastels, using African motifs as a departure point. All levels of expertise will be catered for and beginners are most welcome. Severa Rech Cassarino is currently exhibiting at the Pretoria Art Museum as part of the Venice Biennale Global Italian project. She is well-known for her colourful canvasses as well as her watercolours, and her art is widely collected, both in South Africa and abroad. In her work she addresses a broad range of subject matter such as still-life painting, studies of heads, jewel-like eco-compositions and giant flower compositions.
