2013 marks the 100th anniversary of the first performance of the ballet of the Rite of Spring, with music by Stravinsky. To commemorate this performance, Jill Richards and Michael Watt play Stravinsky’s piano duet version, as well as works by other ground-breaking composers: Schoenberg who is the father of serialism, Henry Cowell who explored the inside of the piano for the first time, some of György Kurtág’s Játékok (Games) series, John Cage who turned everything upside down, and some Fluxus performance art.
